Quilting For The Needy

Updated April 12, 2016

It took a lot of love and effort to complete
the 342 quilts that were donated last season!

The Co-Chairs for Quilting For The Needy are Nancy Hudgins and Sharryl Holtzer. Quilting for the Needy is scheduled for Thursdays from 8 AM to 5:00 PM in the Arts and Crafts Room and the Large Hall.

An Invitation

Please come be part of making quilts for our Winter Ranch 1st Responders, Winter Ranch Good Samaritan families, McAllen Hospital babies, Easter Seals children, and the Alamo Police and Fire Departments.   We will also be making items for sale at the craft shows and  the Quilt Show. You DO NOT have to be a quilter–there are many types of jobs.  We enjoy a break with visiting and treats!

We would love to begin this season with some new ladies in our group–everyone is very welcome!  If you would like to see something on your own come by and we will provide the fabrics.  We are always looking for easy quilt patterns or projects so please share with us!!  We would love to hear from you if you have ideas or questions.

Ladies who took quilt blocks to sew, please pack them to bring back with you! If you are doing some closet cleaning we can use cotton fabrics, thread, and yarn.  Any leftover craft items we can use to sell on our Second Hand Rose table.  Remember to bring quilted items for our quilt show in January’s–the more the better.

The Arts and Crafts Room is also open for anyone wanting to work on  sewing or quilting projects on Wednesday evenings from 5 PM to 10 PM.

The Art and Crafts Room is also open to all crafters on Sundays from 5 PM to 10 PM, Tuesdays from 5 PM to 10 PM and on Saturdays from 3 PM to 10 PM.
